Agadir – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and Boeing signed an agreement today to renovate the cabins of the airline’s seven Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners as part of RAM efforts to modernize its long-haul fleet.
The agreement was signed during the Marrakech Air Show and covers the refurbishment of the aircraft’s interiors, including the installation of new-generation seats, an upgraded in-flight entertainment system, and Starlink internet connectivity.
The seven Boeing 787-8 aircraft joined RAM’s fleet between 2014 and 2016. The airline plans to upgrade their cabins to bring them closer to the standards of its newer aircraft.
Naoual Ait Hammou, RAM’s director of flight operations, said the airline aims to harmonize cabin standards across its fleet as it expands and modernizes its operations.
The refurbishment will begin with the aircraft’s seats, which will be replaced with newer models designed to provide passengers with greater legroom. RAM will also replace the existing in-flight entertainment systems.

Ait Hammou said the renovated cabins will meet “international specifications” and address passenger comfort requirements.
The seven Boeing 787-8s serve RAM’s long-haul network, including routes to destinations such as Beijing. The cabin upgrades are therefore expected to improve the passenger experience on some of the airline’s longest flights.
The refurbishment will also coincide with the introduction of Starlink connectivity on the aircraft. RAM plans to introduce Starlink Wi-Fi as part of its broader effort to upgrade onboard services and connectivity.
“Royal Air Maroc has selected Starlink to bring next-generation inflight Wi-Fi to our passengers, making us the first African airline to offer Starlink connectivity onboard,” RAM announced on Wednesday.
RAM currently operates 13 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, comprising seven 787-8s and six 787-9s.
