Agadir – Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan inaugurated the 17th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show on Monday at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park, bringing together Moroccan and international participants to celebrate the country’s equestrian heritage.
The fair runs until October 18 under the theme “The Horse at the Service of Man.” During the opening ceremony, the Crown Prince visited exhibition stands showcasing horse breeding, traditional crafts, equestrian culture, and regional heritage. He also attended equestrian performances and acrobatic displays featuring Moroccan and foreign riders.
The Crown Prince later watched Tbourida performances by 18 sorbas, or traditional equestrian groups, representing different regions of Morocco.
The program also features the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Tbourida, which celebrates one of Morocco’s most prominent equestrian traditions. Tbourida combines horsemanship, synchronized movements, and coordinated gunfire in performances that reflect the country’s longstanding cultural heritage.
International competitions and cultural program
This year’s edition marks a new stage in the fair’s international development, with the Grand Prix of King Mohammed VI of Show Jumping, placing the competition within a higher tier of international competition.
The event, organized by the Horse Show Association, combines equestrian competitions with scientific, cultural, and recreational activities. Its program includes exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and roundtable discussions focused on horses and the equestrian sector.
The fair also features a children’s village, “Faris on a Journey Through Morocco,” which introduces younger visitors to the country’s equestrian heritage through an immersive experience.
International participation is another feature of this year’s edition, with guests from Turkey, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates attending the opening ceremony.
The El Jadida Horse Show has developed into a platform for promoting horse breeding, traditional equestrian practices, and Morocco’s position in international equestrian events.
