Rabat – Morocco’s national futsal team will lock horns with its Kuwaiti counterpart in the 2023 Arab Futsal Cup final, held in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
The futsal Atlas Lions long to continue writing history by clinching their third consecutive Arab Cup and becoming the tournament’s all-time record title holders.
Moroccan coach Hicham Dguig’s squad members know their Kuwaiti opponents well, as they beat them 4-2 in the group stage.
A series of victories came afterwards with the Atlas Lions winning 5-0 against the Comoros and 6-0 against Lebanon.In the knockout stages, the Atlas Lions beat Saudi Arabia 5-2 in the quarter-finals and Libya 5-1 in the semi-finals.
Kuwait will not be an easy opponent as it is the third best-ranked Arab Nation in the Futsal World Ranking (FWR). It occupies 41st place after Egypt which is ranked 37th and Morocco which is ranked 8th.
The final match will be played at 5 p.m. Moroccan time at the Ministry of Sports Hall in Jeddah, and will be broadcast live on Arryadia television channel for Moroccans who want to watch.
