Rabat – Google and social media platform top SimilarWeb’s list for the most visited websites in Morocco in December 2021.

YouTube ranked first as the country’s most visited website in December 2021. Moroccans spent “undefined minutes” and “undefined pages per visit” on the Google-owned video sharing platform, SimilarWeb reported.

It added that YouTube’s bounce rate remains undefined since an undefinable total of visitors leave the website after viewing one page.

The search engine Google ranked second in the same period, according to the source. As with YouTube, Moroccans spent  “indefinite minutes,” “indefinite average page count per visit,” and a “indefinite bounce rate” on the website.

Based on Google Trends data, the latest google searches conducted by Moroccans are mostly about football. It can be explained with the ongoing AFCON 2021.

Google Trends in Morocco, as of January 15, source.

SimilarWeb’s ranking confirmed similar results for Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram that ranked third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the list.

Koora.com ranks sixth on the list. Visitors spent an average of five minutes and 13 seconds on the website with an average of three pages viewed per visit and a 36.85% bounce rate.

According to SimilarWeb, Twitter ranked lower than other social media websites. It held 7th place with an average of 10 minutes 23 seconds per visit, 10 viewed pages per visit, and 31.66% bounce rate.

The last three positions in the list were taken by Wikipedia, LinkedIn, and Netflix, respectively.

Wikipedia had a 56.07% bounce rate and average visit time of three minutes and 52 seconds in December 2019, placing it ahead of LinkedIn which had a 29.95% bounce rate and a 6-minute and 57-second average visit time in the same period.

SimilarWeb reported that Netflix had a low average visit time of 9 minutes and 31 seconds, a 40.43% bounce rate, and an average of 4  pages viewed per visit. These rates are low considering that Netflix is a website for streaming.
