Rabat – A second suicide case involving a teenager took place in Morocco just a few days following a similar tragedy in the Marrakech-Safi region.
Converging reports indicated today that a 15-year-old student committed suicide on Tuesday in Tetouan, northern Morocco, by jumping from the fifth floor of a building on Jbel Tidghine Avenue.
The teenager was in her first year of high school, reports said, adding that local authorities have opened an investigation into the case.
This latest tragedy comes just a day after a similar heartbreaking incident that took place on Monday, coinciding with the start of the baccalaureate exams for the June season.

The victim was a student at Hassan II High School in Safi, said Ahmed Karimi, director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training in the Marrakech-Safi region. After being caught cheating by exam supervisors, he added, the girl committed suicide by throwing herself from a cliff located a short distance from a Baccalaureate center.
The student, who was in her second year of high school studying humanities, left the exam room in a state of hysteria before heading towards the cliff and taking her own life.
Before committing suicide, the student reportedly sent a voice message to her family relations that said: “Forgive me everyone, and pray for mercy for me.”
