Rabat – The Ghana Football Association dismissed national team head coach Otto Addo on Tuesday, just hours after a friendly defeat against Germany and only two months before the start of the World Cup.
The “Black Stars” lost 2-1 in Stuttgart on Monday, after the hosts secured a late winner through Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav.
This result marked Ghana’s fourth consecutive defeat under Addo, following a heavy 5-1 loss to Austria the previous week.
“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” the Ghanaian Federation said in a statement.
“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course.”
Otto Addo, who is 50 years old, took charge of the Ghanaian national football team in March 2024.
Ghana will play in a group that includes England, Croatia, and Panama in the World Cup, scheduled to start June 11.
