Liverpool Open Barcola Talks with PSG

Liverpool have made their first move for Bradley Barcola, but Paris Saint-Germain remain unconvinced as negotiations continue between the two clubs.

Casablanca – Liverpool’s interest in Bradley Barcola has finally taken a concrete step. The Premier League club has submitted an opening bid to Paris Saint-Germain, Fabrizio Romano reported earlier today, noting that the offer falls short of the Parisian team’s expectations. Negotiations are ongoing, he added.

As Paris Saint-Germain move closer to completing the signings of Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts, the club also hold talks with their Liverpool officials. Fabrizio Romano’s latest revelations about the ongoing negotiations come a week after it emerged that the French winger was seeking a move to Anfield.

The two clubs remain far from reaching an agreement, the Italian journalist stressed today. Although Liverpool have already submitted an opening offer worth more than €100 million, he detailed, the bid does not meet PSG’s demands.

Meanwhile, several players are reportedly set to leave Anfield in the coming weeks. One of those on the departing line is Curtis Jones, who has one year left on his contract. Inter Milan are reportedly prepared to offer €35 million for the English midfielder.

Harvey Elliott is also being pushed towards the exit and is attracting interest from Leeds United and RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa does not wish to leave the club despite approaches from Atletico Madrid; the Italian international is said to be determined to establish himself at Anfield.

Andoni Iraola, who succeeded Arne Slot last June, is pushing Liverpool’s management to wrap up Bradley Barcola’s deal as quickly as possible. The Reds boss is eager to have as much time as possible to work with the French international forward before the Premier League season kicks off on August 21.

Talks are expected to progress fast, with the deal potentially being completed before the end of the week.
